I just wanted to inform you all that my favorite drink is going to be made with real sugar, rather than using high fructose corn syrup. High fructose corn syrup is a common sweetener and preservative which is used to change sugar (glucose) in cornstarch to fructose. High fructose corn syrup has become widely used because of its ability to extend shelf life and its cost is cheaper than regular sugar. However, studies have shown that it is a variable relating to the United States obesity problem (or they say).
Starting around April 20th, Pepsi will be selling versions of Pepsi and Mountain Dew that contain real sugar. For all you mountain dew lovers out there, get ready. However, I don’t see this as a marketing stunt (yeah right), because of passover. I guess being Jewish and having Passover doesn’t really mix well with grains (This is just what I’ve heard). That is why they seek sugar based products. I guess Pepsi and Coca Cola have been issuing Kosher versions of their drink ever year as an alternative for a while now. Everyone just wants to make more money right? It all about adapting, and I guess soda companies are just ahead of the game? Or, I’m just not that aware of what is going on around me. Who knows.
I just wanted to let you all know that Mountain Dew is my favorite drink with 12 little begel bites cooked in the oven at 450 degrees for 12 minutes, no pre-heating. Meal of champions.
